I have a GA-5AX motherboard (Rev. 4) ALi Aladdin V AGPset with a 3D Blaster RivaTNT2 M64 graphics card. My problem is the system running Windows 98 crashes as it loads to the desktop or hangs several minutes later. No matter what I set the resolution at: optimum or adapter default, 60,70,or 75 hz; 256 or High 16 colour and 680 x 480 or 800 x 600 it still crashes. I have a Compaq 1024 monitor. I have installed the patches and chipset drivers from the CD that came with the motherboard, however, the problems is still there. If I load Windows 98 into Safe mode the computer works fine. When I look at the settings in Device Manager there are no conflicts or any exclamation marks with my hardwares. Please help a distraught user. :-(Sorry this is so long)
