I have a PII 400 win 98 all settings are correct and i still keep getting disconected WHY ??? I have conted my server and no problems there My modem is an Motorola SM56 Fax Voice Modem PLEASE HELP ME
This is not a simple question, so my answer may not be simple either. First, has the modem ever worked without disconnecting? If so, what did you do that might have changed the settings? Registry cleanup? Lost files?
Second, if it has never worked well you could have line noise problems or you need new drivers. Is it a PCI or ISA modem. Mine is ISA and I had the wrong drivers for it. You can download the latest build and that should correct all problems.
