I am looking for ada305 drivers, this is a Sound system in USB by Altec-lansing. If WIN2K drivers exist why do not include a shorcut to your web adress.....

I just asked Altec customer support this question on 8/14. Their reply was:
"The AMS software was written before the release of Windows 2000. We no longer sell the ADA305 speakers from our web site. We have been concentrating on the development of new speakers with more advanced technical features. The speakers you have were developed for the home user and most home users do not use Windows 2000."
Pretty pathetic "support" for a product they still sell on their web-site (I checked). I told them I have a Lexmark printer and HP scanner, both purchased in 1995, that are still well supported by their manufacturers, including brand new spanking drivers for Win2K. Also told them its a waste of time working on advanced new speakers if they can't support what they sell now, since they won't have any customers left by then.

I've had the same problem with the Altec TD 4100 for toshiba, external pcmcia cdrom
They wrote very friendly that they didn't support the drivers for w98, i could just keep going with w95 FIST version.
They really were sorry for the inconvenience.

I can't believe Altec is not going to support the 305 for win2k. They may not be selling it on their website anymore, but I can still go to officemax and buy them if I want, they're still all over the place for sale. It can't be really difficult to develop support either, if you try to use the win98 USB driver for win2k, it comes ever so close to working! Just because a company has stopped selling something on their website (and not even stopped shipping it!) does not mean they are exempt from supporting it at all.
