I've just been trying to install an Aztech Waverider 32+ sound card from my old PC to a (new to me) Pentium II - 233 PC.
It already had an Opti 933 which worked OK but did not have a built-in wavetable for high quality rendering of midi instruments.
I failed to install the Waverider 32+ so decided to re-install the Opti.
Windows '95 - release 2 recognised it an reported that it was ;loading all the necessary drivers, but then went into a SCANDISK loop, reporting that windows had not been shut down properly. Upon finishing, it then re-booted and insisted on running SCANDISK again, then re-booted then..... again and again.
Only when I removed the card did windows boot-up OK. (Not terribly useful).
Is there some special 'magic' way to install Opti sound cards. I was told afterwards that these cards are very tricky to install. How do you do it?
Any help would me appreciated.
