This may be usefull information to all those whom have been having probs.
When I installed my 931 card and the standard Cybersynth drivers I had various problems including stuttering which I thought I remembered as an IRQ conflict.
My current set up which also seems to resolve the Win98 SE shutdown "fault" is as follows is to force the sound card to share the printer IRQ that is number 7 as the default is 5. I found that IRQ 5 was being allocated to Win98 SE ACPI function and forcing this to change gave odd results.
So far my system is stable m/b is Aopen AX63pro with celeron 466 and the 931 driver causing shutdown probs is not to date!!!!
