Got a problem with a few boards which have come into the shop recently. Win 98 finds the boards as an OPTi Audio 16. But the OPTi driver for the chipset does not work. But the card has an OPTi 82c924 chip, a Crystal CS4231a-kl, and a yamaha MF-009 chip on board. The FCC number is J98MF-009 which gives Anchor Electronics Company as the board manufacturer.
What I would like to get is a driver which works. If you have one that does please post it here or e-mail it to me. Or if you know where I can get one let me know.
Thanks.

because windows 98 uses Direct X 5 as a substructure any OPTi chipset based card with a 829 or lower number chipset will not work properly iin win98 due to not being Direct X compatiable. These cards where commonly known as the aptly titled MAD16 sound card.
The price of sound cards are so cheap nowadays that a replacement would be advisable.
