I have a laptop which I believe is fitted with the above video chipset.
I downloaded the S3ID.exe program to try and find out if there is an updated driver availible.
When I ran the program it reported that it was unable to determin the chipset.
P'n'P reports an S3 chipset
The driver that came with the laptop CD installs a set of files with the version number 4.10.01.3005-5.00.09
S3 corp 1997
The problem is that sometimes when I try to access the display properties the machine simply hangs. DirectX 6 reports that it encountered problems trying to get extra display information. result code = 0x88760249 (can't create DC)
Although DirectX 6 indicates that it has a ViRGE /MX + Macrovision Rev E chipset
Is there anything I can do?
