Trio64 update driver?

I have the S3 Trio 64 (765) chipset with the
4.10.1715 driver version and I am wondering if there is a newer driver version. I downloaded the 40.10.01.2108 but now think the version I had already (4.10.1715) was the newer one.

I want to run the new Myst masterpiece edition but my display will only go to 16 bit and the game needs 24 bit. With a newer version of the driver will my display go up to 24 or 36 bit?

what resolution are u using?
the trio64v2 that i use will go to 24 bit colour at 800x600, but only 16 bit at 1024x768
