S3Trio64V+ and directX drivers

Please help me, I have a problem regarding about this S3Trio64V+ and directX 6 drivers.

Since I've installed this dx6eng, my display is always turning into a black screen!
All I have to do is to restart again the system to see again the display.

Can someone help me solve this problem?

My system will not view type 1 .avi files using DIRECTSHOW. Everything in the system has been replaced, including the operating system and disk drive, but the problem persists.

It must be either the AMD K6M processor, the glue chip that is used with the AMD K6, or the S3 TRIO64/V2 board when used with the new DIRECTX software.

The system is a Compaq 4540, AMD K6, 200 Mhz. The type 1 .avi files are coming from a SIIG 1394 board connected to a Sony TRV310 camcorder. DIRECTSHOW crashes when it tries to render the video stream in a PREVIEW mode.
