Any luck with a Virge at 1152x864@16 bit color ?

I got a s3 virge dx with 4 megs RAM . I noticed with the same card on Windows NT 4 I can have a resolution of 1152x864 at 16 bit color, but on Win9x I just can have 1152x864 at 256 colors. This is weird cause I can have 1280x768 at 16 bit without a problem on both OS.

My best guess is that this is a driver problem, but the win98 driver is the newest one I have found and it does not work. Any suggestions ?

Did you ever get any help on this? I have the same problem myself and have tried just about every S3 Virge driver I can find. Display setup shows the higher resolutions but when I try to select them, either nothing happens or it gets reset to 1024x768 each time.
