I downloaded the latest Win 3.1 driver for this video card from the SiS website. Self extracted it into an empty directory, but it would not install! First the SETUP program gave an error message that it couldn't find rhe SETUP.INS file in the \ENGLISH subdirectory. The directory did not exist, so I created it and copied SETUP.INS into it. Tried again to install, now I get another error message saying that _SETUP.DLL and another DLL (which is contained in the _SETUP.LIB file) both need to be in the same directory as SETUP.EXE. But both files ARE in that directory already! Am I doing something wrong, or is the setup program a total mess? As a last resort, is there any other way of getting the driver files extracted and installed -- some kind of manual copying procedure perhaps?

Man it's been a while so forgive my directions if they are wrong!

Anyway, go to the Main group in Program Manager and look for "Windows Setup" or something like that. Run that, and in that program there should be a dialog where you can choose your video card. I believe there is a an option at the bottom of the list to select a video card not listed. Then point it to where you have the driver files extracted.

If that doesn't work, run c:\windows\setup.exe in DOS and try it from there.
