Can somebody please help - I need Network adaptor drivers for Win95 for the SMC Ethernet 8216C card.

On the card is the SMC Ultrachip, seems to be manufactured in 1993 and it has 5 possible jumper settings.

All I want to do, is to communicate between my standard home PC and my Laptop through Network Neighbourhood, using a normal rj45-connector and cables (twisted)

The following FCC ID is on the card: JI58216C

Thanks a lot

my e-mail address is johan.vanvollenhoven@pqchem.com

Thanks

Johan

I am having the same difficulties....
I use the same Adapter (8216C) and if anyone
has an idea how to get this card run on a
Win98 or Win2000 system I would be very happy

Actually, drivers for this device are included with W2k. I just this minute installed this device, and it's working great. Mine has a jumper block to set the resources; I selected the third position, which uses IRQ 10 and so forth. No conflicts with any devices in my system being found for that particular set of resources, the device began working immediately. I went off to the network control panel applet and configured TCP and I was off to the races without a reboot (!).

I've had trouble getting this device to work with other O/S in the past, though my notes don't show precisely which ones-- I think Win98 was an issue, but maybe it was Linux, or both. So, I had relegated it to a drawer. Happy I am to find it so willing to play with Win2k.
