Since this is an SCSI CD-R drive, it requires the DOS-based SCSI drivers in order to recognize the unit as at least a CD-ROM drive. And in order to burn CDs, you need a software program (which is Windows based only) exclusively for that. Adaptec's EZ CD-Creator and Neo Burning Rom are two widely used programs.
