Anybody notice that SONY used the components that are the hardest to find drivers for this notebook? I don't know about the other VAIOs but mine has an ALPS Touchpad which ALPS does not support, NEO MAGIC video card which NeoMagic does not publish drivers for, and the strangest thing is it has a Toshiba DVD-ROM, I thought SONY had there own?!? I guess they are saying that they don't make them as good as Toshiba. ANyways, if anyone know of drivers for Win2000 for the touchpad and Video Card please reply. THe only thing SONY has published is a BIOS update. THe Video Drivers for that card for Win2000 came with the OS, but doesn't have Hardware Compensation like the 98 version.
Thanks!

It's been a few years but if you ever found a solution to your problem I would appreciate it if you could share it with me. I've encountered the same problems and have been looking for an answer for the last 8 months. I would buy a Recovery CD if I knew where to find it.
Thanks,
JoeDon
