I purchase a SoundBlaster Live Value card about a year ago. I recently purchased an ATI All-in-Wonder card which uses IRQ 11. My SBLV card wants the same IRQ and will not load in 3 of the 3 available PCI slots and in the one slot it will load in, the sound is fuzzy. In the Control Panel, I am unable to change the IRQ settings for the sound card. Is there a workaround to this? I had a similar problem with the SBLV card and a modem but was able to solve it by switching the card to a different slot.

i found a solution for this problem:
try disabling an unused device in your BIOS (not in windows)
i disabled my 2nd com-port (which is IRQ3)
now look un which pci the sblive is located and change the irq of this slot to 3 (or wharever the disabled device was before)
don't forget to disable the plug'n'play os option in the bios, in order to make the bios set the irqs
but be careful as there are pci slots that share their irq with the agp slot (usually 1st pci shares an irq with agp)
if you experience problems with your vga, try to put your sblive into another slot and change its irq to the one you freed diabling one device
hope this helps
