I need drivers for the old SB16 with IDE controller for CD Roms. I've looked all over and have yet to be able to find drivers. I can't upgrade my operating systems unless I load it all from Floppy because I have no drivers for the SB or CDR so It won't recognize the CD drive.

Even though the connector may say IDE, I think that connector is proprietary and not fully ATAPI compliant.

The wonderfull world of older hardware. Win95 and Win98 have a default driver for a SB16Pnp, if that does not work, sounds like you need to install DOS first, and then the drivers for the soundcard so that your OS will see the CDRom. Is the card a PnP or is it jumpered? I have the old DOS disks for a SB16PnP, it also has a PnP configurator for the older BIOS that don't support PnP. E-mail me at NDFAN@Prodigy.net and tell me what OS you are upgrading from... to. Also, what are the other specs of the system.
