TRIED INSTALLING VELOCITY 4400 16MB PCI IN MY SYSTEM:
PCCHIPS M560 MOTHERBOARD
CYRIX PR200 MMX CPU
48MB RAM
FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS FROM STB TECH SUPPORT I HAVE :
1. UPDATED MY MOTHERBOARD BIOS
2. CHECKED BIOS SETTINGS (1,000,000 TIMES)
3. INSTALLED DRIVER FOR MY MONITOR
4. LAST BUT NOT LEAST REFORMATTED MY DISK AND INSTALLED A FRESH COPY OF WIN95.

THE SYSTEM ACTS LIKE IT IS LOADING DRIVERS BUT I CAN ONLY GET 640-480 AND 16 COLORS. IF I TRY TO RAISE RES OR COLORS AND REBOOT I GET A BLACK SCREEN AFTER WINDOWS START PAGE AND THE SYSTEM HANGS. ALSO THE DISPLAY PROPERTIES PAGE DOES NOT REFLECT THE NEW DRIVERS (SHOULD BE TABS TO TWEAK NEW CARD).
WHEN I PULL THE 4400 AND PUT MY OLD CARD BACK IN (TRIDENT 9680 PCI) THE SYTEM WORKS FINE AGAIN AND THE VELOCITY 4400 TABS SHOW UP IN THE DISPALY PROPERTIES PAGE.

ANY IDEAS??????

Did you ever get to the bottom of your problem.

I am having similar experiences under v.similar circumstances:

VELOCITY 4400 16MB PCI
PCCHIPS M575 mboard
CYRIX PR300 MMX CPU
48MB EDO RAM
upgraded to latest BIOS
updated BIOS settings to STB FAQ recomendations
tried a selection of STB drivers
re-installed win95 since STB suggest it
my monitor is fully supported by win95
monitor is also supports VESA DDC
complained to STB Tech. suppt. about lack of TWEAKs in display.. properties... They advised me to download v301j.exe from STB V4400 drivers page and install it. Did this and still get blank screen and hang after initial win95 welcome screen even though I can now access the monitor TWEAKs.

My old cards (Oak OTI64111 + Orchid Voodoo 3d) were absolutely fine except limited by lack of video RAM hence the "upgrade".

Now All I get is 640x480x16 on a 17" TCO95 monitor... It is doing my head in!

My guess is STB + PC-CHIPS = BROKEN.

I had the same problem, though after 2 days of fiddling I did manage to get it working.

After downloading the latest drivers and updating the BIOS with no luck, I changed the following settings in the BIOS -

Assign IRQ to PCI VGA - Enabled
Primary Frame Buffer - Disabled
VGA Frame Buffer - Disabled

and as if by a miracle it worked.
