i have a travelmate 341t.
i upgraded recently to windows 2000.
everything is working just fine with one exception.
i don't seem to be getting support for multiple monitors, which is a very important feature for me when i go to the office and plug my laptop into a 17 inch monitor (to stretch the desktop accross the built in LCD display and the external monitor). when i was running windows 98 (OEM) it was working fine... but under 2000 it is not.
i am able to use the external monitor and/or the LCD display (both if i want), but only as a primary display.
in other words, i cannot stretch the across both displays.
the laptop recognize that there are two monitors (in the display properties - under the Settings tab - it says '(Multiple Monitors) on Trident Video Accelerator 9525DVD). also in the Device Manager it is clear that the system recognizes that there are two monitors attached to the laptop.
there is also one display adapter, which is Trident Video Accelerator 9525DVD.
also, when i go in the advanced button in the settings tab of the display properties, i see several extra tabs with Trident logo on them.) when i read in the help files (by clicking the Trident logo in the system tray once i am in advanced) i see indication of multiple-monitor support for 98/NT 5.0. in that section of the help file it is indicated that an extra tab (with trident logo on it i assume) called multiple monitors should be present... however, it is not in my case..
i have downloaded the latest display adapter driver from microsoft (automatic search when updating driver). i found no video driver updates on acer website (NT 4 is the latest, and NT 4 doesn't support multiple monitors).
i need to know where i can get a driver for windows 2000 to support multiple monitors on my laptop. i might have to change a setting here or there, and the current driver would work (as the help files suggest), but i just cannot figure out what that setting is - if indeed this is the case...
i went on Trident's website and read that laptop screen drivers are supported by OEM company only. i wrote acer and haven't recived a reply yet.
i need your help.. thanks
