Some months ago I had some modifications done at a local shop on my existing pc, part of which included fitting a new soundcard. I am now having a problem in that I am getting no sound at all and the shop has closed down. I cannot find any details of the product serial number although I have the CD. The CD is titled " CD Rom Drivers HIS Classic/Audio" On starting windows I am getting a message to say " Trident 4D Wave -DX PCI Audio device found @ PCI address 0088h ( device 11H ) ERROR : Timed out writing AC97 index 02h (baseFC40h). Press key to proceed." Several more messages appear which are similar but with different addresses until after about 10 the system sets up windows as normal. I have checked Device Manager which tells me that the drivers are not installed correctly. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing but with no success. Can anyone help please?
