I have the Sportster Vi 28.8 Faxmodem DSVD which I have upgraded to 33.6 from USR a long time ago. I am running Win98. For some reason I can not configure my modem to work. When I do the auto-detect from Win98 it finds a modem but it finds only a Standard Modem.When I try to test it it tells me that the modem is not responding. I have tried to set it up manually and I get the same thing. I downloaded the latest driver (I think it is the right one ) from USR but I got the same thing. Can any one tell me which driver file I should be downloading or can give me a hint as why this is happening??? Is my modem broken, but then I would suspect that auto-detect would not find anything at all.
