I take it you've already been to Compaq's website for your Presario. (http://web14.compaq.com/falco/sp_result.asp?Model=3095&Os=0) As you can see, nothing listed there for modems...
In case you haven't already done so, go here for your Quick Reference Guide. (ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/supportinformation/consumerdocs/Consumer_QRG/presario5500.pdf) It says that your 5528 originally came with a 19.2K modem...kinda slow by today's standards.
Is this the modem that your looking for drivers for? You might try replacing that modem with a 56K modem...they are pretty cheap nowadays and it should come with its own driver.
