Screen Resolution: 1224x768
Color Depth: 16 bit
Problem Description:
System hangs up during Janes WW2 flight sim, Windows media player while
showing graphics.

Asus A7V motherboard VIA KT133 chip set
AMD Athlon 900
128 mb PC 133 RAM
330W Power supply
ATI Radeon 32mb DDR AGP

Latest drivers from VIA
Direct X 8
ATI BETA driver fot Direct X 8
(same reaction with ATI latest supported driver and Direct X 7)

Have set system up with video card alone and experienced the problem, eleminating IRQ or interference from other devices.
Thes is a clean WIN 98 SE installation with all Microsoft updates installed.
Radeon card will work on previous Asus P5A with AMD K6-2 450 and identical componants installed.
All other functions of the computer work as long as there are no 3D graphic functions.
ATI settings are set at default.
BIOS is set to ATI recomendations (non turbo
-64 mb apature etc)

You didn't say whether you flashed your motherboard's BIOS to the latest version. I know that the newer Duron and Athlon motherboards have had some real compability problems... http://forums.windrivers.com//cgi-bin/forum2/eek.gif

Ha! I'm gonna be nice here tonight. I have only one question, hope this don't sound stupid, but it looks like you've typed -64mb for AGP aperture size, you mean 64mb, right? And if I'm not mistaken, I believe the ATI Radeon is a true AGP video card, unlike 3dfx cards, so you probably will want to enable 2x or 4x AGP mode on your motherboard, so you just might want to install the AGP turbo mode VIA drivers. Well, that's what I had to do to get a Radeon to work on a SOYO mobo with a 1.2ghz Thunderbird.

You may want to go into accessories, system tools, system information, click on tools there, click on DirectX Diagnostics. Don't try to run any of the DX test, just see what it says what you have for drivers installed for the video, make sure everything is there. If everything that's supposed to be there is there. Try enabling the turbo drivers for the AGP. Hey, if I'm wrong what do you got to lose? But if I'm right, well, your welcome.
