Avance AC97

Hello..i have the above mentioned audio card..and previously i had mistakenly downloaded and installed the kazaa lite codec pack and it caused some problems with .avi...when i uninstalled it..i tried to play one of my games and it gave me the problem of..."There will be no voice or sound effects because this system does not support DirectSound"...If there is ANY way that i can fix this problem..or download a driver to fix this..could someone please help me on this? Avance is now supported by Realtek.

Go here for Realtek's AC'97 Audio CODECs. (http://www.realtek.com.tw/pctech/pc-drivers1-1.aspx?lineid=5&famid=12&series=8&Software=True) Looks like some pretty recents updates.
