I have a PII motherboard, using Win98 SE and require a (free) bios upgrade.
My current BIOS is:
Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG
BIOS ID: 06/29/1998-i440BX-W977TF-2A69KM2CC-00
This is preventing me from using a larger hard drive...
Is there anyone out there that can point me in the right direction of finding such an upgrade?

Open the case with the power disconnected and look fot the product name or manufacturer and the model number of the motherboard the go to the website of that company and go to eith a support page or download page or post your model and manufacturer on a reply and i will find one for you

From the bios string you seem to have a TMC TI6NB
You have two approaches, the safest would be to buy a pci ide card which has its own bios and will run any hard drive (except sata and scsi).
The other is to use a "patched" bios here (http://wims.rainbow-software.org/index.php?start=200&count=100)
Rainbow bios has a good name for distributing bioses that just deal with the hard drive limitation, but with all things of this nature, there is no guarantees.
zdnet also have several revisions (http://www.zdnet.de/treiber/man_prod/tmc_mainboard-bios-wc.html)
It is VERY important that YOU make sure that you have the right flash file. Flashing the bios incorrectly will render your motherboard inoperable.
