I cannot find anything on this one on the Internet! I tried the Compaq (or HP now!) and Google but I can't find the info I need for this computer!

I can only get the hd that came with the computer to work with it. However, it's an NT OS and I want to use Win 98 on it... can you do this?

Problem is that I cannot get another hd that is Win 98 formatted to boot up and I can't get a floppy to work on it either or anything else! And I cannot get into the BIOS either... tried F10 til I was blue in the face!!! Keeps saying to use F12 for Network Boot or if I use the Win 98 formatted hd... says 'Invalid system disk... replace disk and press any key".

How can I get into the BIOS or how can I get another hd to work on this computer or get a floppy drive to work on it?

I couldn't find a Deskpro 3800. Please verify that model number...

Compaq BIOS for Deskpro, etc. (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/UCR/SupportManual/TPM_14my-0501a-wwen/TPM_14my-0501a-wwen.pdf) This is in a .pdf file.
To enter Setup, restart the computer and press the F10 key (when
prompted) during POST.

Maybe this will help you get started...Good Luck!

I have got 8 3800 Deskpros, and I have the CMOS setup disks... I too have been scouring the Net and I am unable to find anything on this workstation. I am trying to find an upgrade for the bloody thing! Let me know if you want me to upload the 3 disks...

UPDATE: try http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/deskpro/us/locOsCat/4_81.html

Although it shows Deskpro 3800 on the sticker on the bottom it is a Deskpro 4000N. Connect a CDROM on the IDE port and then boot from your Win 98 CD (it will give you that option). You can get the drivers from the Compaq (HP) site.
