Does anyone know which is newer? I figure it must be 931AD because it has extra characters in it's name but that's just a guess. Anyone know? There is no place on the net to determine electronic part manufacturing dates.

look at the cards, get the fcc id number and then look up at the fcc search (https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/cf/eas/reports/GenericSearch.cfm) it will have a date there.

Opti does not produce video or sound cards, they produce the chips that other manufacturers use in their products. OPTi the drivers as a convenience and the best option would be to get the driver from the actual manufacturer of the card. As of 1997, OPTi has sold it's audio division to ECTIVA, a division of Creative Labs.

Having said that, WinDrivers has the following drivers archived on their website here: (http://premium.windrivers.com/script/drivers.asp?company=82c931)

Dos, Win3.1 Opti 931 Drivers 814K

Win95 Opti 931 Drivers 160K

WinNT 3.51/4.0 Opti 931 Drivers 96K

Hope this helps you out...Good Luck!
