CD-Driver for Compaq Deskpro XL 566

This machine was working before without any problems until I re-formatted the hard drive recently. Now, I have to boot the machine with a Win95 bootdisk. The problem is, it can't read the CD drive and therefore can't install Win95. I know this is an old machine but please, HELP ME.

Ok so we need to know if the compaq computer "sees" the cdrom. Does the cdrom light up when the computer starts?

Try a bootdiskette from www.bootdisk.com for 95 osr2 or 98 - it may be its just the wrong dos driver for the cdrom.
