I have a 35/70 DLT drive on a compaq dl360 server. since upgrading the hard drives i run out of space on the backup.I cant seem to get it to compress even by pressing the button on the drive. I use Backup Exec and have tried both hardware and software compression.

How much data is there to be backed up and what tape are you using?

there is abut 45 gig of data I am using hp 40-80 tapes

No i havent tried the hp tools

check the media is compatible then.

the media is hp c5141f recomended for use on HP Shure store DLT Drives
