I installed an AIW 128 AGP Pro on my Windows 2000 Professional system (SP1 w/DX8) last week. The system is an AMD K6-2 500MHz with 256M of RAM. Motherboard is a fic 503+ with Award Bios. I do not have a DVD drive in the system. Everything else is pretty regular.

3D appears to work well, as does the file player. When I try to launch the TV, however, the version splash screen (v7.1) appears, but then the system locks.

I have downloaded and installed all the current drivers for card & media player from the ATI site.

Nothing seems to help. E-mail to tech support two days ago has only yielded an automated acknowlegment.

Any suggestions?

PS> a direct mail would be most appreciated, as I'm out in the field the next few days and won't have net access (besides e-mail).

This sounds like the problem this (http://download.microsoft.com/download/win2000pro/dx8bda/8.0/W982KMe/EN-US/dx80bda.exe) DirectX8 video patch from Microsoft fixes.
