Hey guys i've got an old Compaq Presario 5310US desktop and up till this point have never really got into hardware side of things. I've always had plenty of memory, storage etc. so besides switching up speakers, monitors, and keyboards etc. i've never needed to look into anything else
ANYWAY i need to hook up a calibrated mic to my computer because i want to do some frequency response tests on some home audio speakers. I"ve heard i should upgrade my sound card because the OEM one is junk. I've heard creative labs have good ones? Is this compatible with my computer? easy to install?
Also i need to hook up a calibrated mic to it and need to take some VERY accurate measurements.
What all do i need to do something like this? I would REALLY appreciate help with this it will make my day.
I have no idea if this is the right place to be asking these questions or not?
