When running Unreal Tournament (game of the year edition) my 3DFX is extremely dark, and i can't change it. I change the gamma level in the 3DFX tools dialog, but my card doesn't seem to react to the changes that I have made.. can anyone help me?

You'll have to go into Unreal and go into options, video, and change the gamma for the game itself. If the gamma in the game is to low everything will be dark.

Which Voodoo video card do you have? Are you able to adjust gamma for glide by itself without touching the gamma settings for the desktop? In the 3dfx HUB you should see 3dfx color, sellection, then you have choices of which gamma you want to change. If you're running the game in D3D, you'd want to increase the gamma in D3D, if you're running the game in Glide/OpenGL, you'd want to increase the gamma there. If you are not able to increase the gamma in 3dfx's control panel for your game, you may have a driver issue.

How bright do you have the brightness setting on the 3dfx HUB, it could be that the brightness control on your monitor is turned down.

The default settings for the desktop should bring you optimal brightness settings for you to see everything clearly while running Windows. If you had to change any brightness settings to be able to view your desktop more clearly, it could just be a monitor adjustment.

I had the same problem. It was extremely dark in UT with my voodoo 5 card. I think i tried every damn driver and gamma setting there is. The problem wasn't the card. It was the damn monitor. So i had to buy a new one. So if your monitor is old, try a newer one and that will probably help.

I have a VooDoo3 3000 PCI. Unreal Tournament using glide was way too dark to make out the opponents/teammates unless they had a flag on them. <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0"> I used the V3Tweaker 2.70 program to adjust my glide/opengl gamma levels and it was actually adjusted in the Unreal Tournament game allowing me to "SEE" my surroundings quite clearly. So VooDoo3 3000 use v3tweaker.exe d/l at www.3dspotlight.com (http://www.3dspotlight.com) or any other 3D gamers resource websites
