I have a Cardinal Connecta 56k internal modem (model#3440) and have downloaded the v.90 upgrade from windrivers.com. Every time I try to install it, it gives me a THIS PROGRAM HAS PERFORMED AN ILLEGAL OPERATION error. I have tried to install it in safe mode as well (and even by shutting down all my programs in my system tray)!!
Help!!!!
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Did you get your v90 upgrade to work? I am having problems. When I get to the part in the wizard about calling cardinal or using
disk, cardinal no longer exists to call. If
I use disk I cannot get the exe file to install the update. any suggestions?
Any help will be appreciated.

I too have tried the "wizard" update for the 3440, only to find there is no one home at the other end. I cannot even find my disk. It has become really bad news since my ISP upgraded everything to v90.
Anyone with a solution out there, please email me in addition to replying here.
Thanks!

I guess I'll answer myself. I just found this site (http://members.cnx.net/reboot/driverss.htm) which has some info and files. I haven't tried them yet so I don't know if they will work.

Finally, the flash file I got from the previous page did not work. This is what I ended up doing: I downloaded a file called 3440.zip (I'm not sure where but I can find it again if you need it). The problem was, under Win31, it couldn't see the flash file. I unzipped it under Win98 and bang, there it was with a long filename. I renamed it to an 8 char filename, ran the Wizard (in 3440.zip) and it accepted the flash file!!!
Hope this helps!

I've got a cardinal connecta. The manual says its a model #8714us. I suspect its's a 3440 model. Ultimately, I want to download the appropriate update file from Modem Express web site. Can anyone suggest how I can determine the true model I have.

I'd also like to know if any of you have tried the V.90 upgrade made for the 3480 internal on the EXTERNAL model 3480.? http://www.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum2/confused.gif
Please email me if so!
Thanks for any info,
