Hi,

I am trying to install a Voodoo 3 - 16 Mb in a K6-II 500 in a
Mother Board PC-CHIPS M598 (SiS 530). I incapacitated the video
on-board and I installed the new board, but the Windows 98 (first
version) does not recognize it, installed drivers of it and when I
restart the computer the screen is all black color!

Already I tried of everything, to install drivers for Add New Hardware, for
the installation program, and still I lowered drivers new in the site
of the 3DFX and nothing!

Somebody already had similar problem and/or
can help me to install this board?

When you say black you mean mono tone right? Like as in Black and White? Or do you just get a black screen. Is this a fresh install of Win98? If it is you might want to install the chipset drivers for your motherboard if you haven't done so. You may also want to use drivers ver 1.06.00 instead of version 1.07.00. You could also go into system setup and change a video option from AGP to PCI since you've disabled the onboard video which was probably onboard AGP. Also make sure your set as EGA/VGA as a video option.

When you go to install the drivers for the video card, after the reboot, does it say found new pci video device and windows is now loading the drivers for this new device? Does it say anything after the reboot? I don't understand why you're having this much trouble installing this card, it's usually one of the easiest, except for when your disabling onboard video, then there could be some problems. This is a PCI video card you're installing, right?
