Anyone had success installing win2k and getting drivers to work for
video
ethernet
audio
etc
If yes, man please tell me about it. I'm going crazy here!
While I couldn't find specific Win2000 drivers for your Presario, you might want to read up on Installing Microsoft Windows 2000. Lots of good info and links there...

I managed to get the audio driver to work. I used the "Application/Driver CD". I still cannot get the video to work, I tried installing the video driver off this CD too, and even though it said that is was for Windows 2000 I get a blue screen when I re-boot.
Best of luck to you.

After hours more I was able to get the video card drivers, sound card drivers, and modem drivers. I have still not been able to get the network card working, I went out and bought a PCMCIA Network card in order to get the video drivers from the internet. You may have to do this as well!
Modem & Sound Card:
These drivers are on the Application / Drivers CD that came with the laptop. install them one at a time, after the modem installation you will have to go to Control Panel -> Modems and then Add Modem... Windows will search for your modem and WILL detect it this time.
Video Drivers:
First I installed Windows 2000 SP2, then I logged on the internet and went to the Windows Update site. Under device drivers there was an update for the ATI M6 video card.
Good luck!
Gary

I think the final driver needed is the network card. you can find that on compaq's site, it is under the SoftPaq# sp18207.
