I have a Deskpro 4000 with Windows 98 installed, and the Secondary IDE controller has an exclamation mark beside it, Code 10. Can anyone help? I only need a driver. This is very important!
You might try going here to Compaq's website for DeskPro downloads.
Do you know what devices you have tied to that secondarey IDE? Is it your CD-ROM drive?
I think I would try booting in Safe Mode...remove that IDE device with the exclamation mark...reboot...let WinDoze find it and load the drivers again. If it still fails, you might looking at Deskpro IDE PD-CD Support. It says it is for Win95 but should work fine for you in Win98 also.
Let us know how it goes...Good Luck!
DonJ

I tried removing the IDE controller, but it said that I needed to remove the root. So I did, but the CD-ROM still didn't work, so I had to reload Win98. It's a good thing that the IDE works in DOS, otherwise I would have to looking through all the CAB files. Then I tried looking in the Compaq support, but I couldn't find what I need, mostly because I don't know the Product Number. Then I tried the Win95 driver, but that's the driver I already have! So, right now, I don't know what to do any more.
