Compaq Presario 1277 Laptop Sound

Anyone know where I can obtain a sound driver for a Compaq Presario Laptop-model 1277. <br />The customer removed the restore partition and "lost" the restore cd(s).<br />Compaq's web site has drivers for everything else except sound.<br />Or if you know exactly which sound chip is used that would be useful, maybe there are some reference drivers out there.<br />Thanks

Yeah, it's a bummer that everything is listed except sound. Anyway, go here for <a href="http://web14.compaq.com/falco/sp_result.asp?Model=1997&Os=0" target="_blank">drivers & downloads for your Notebook</a>. I take it that neither one of those "audio fixes" apply to you... Also, notice the links at the bottom for Service Guide and QRG. The QRG will have your parts breakdown. Hopefully, you will find some useful info there. BTW, which version of Windows are you using?

WOO HOO!! I found them. They were on Compaq's site...just not anywhere linked to the laptop in question.<br />If ya need them-try <a href="http://www.compaq.com/support/files/17001.html" target="_blank">here.</a>

Then download the SP17363.EXE.

I'm using Win98-these are supposed to work with 98 or ME.
