I bought a Compaq Presario 4860. I installed Windows NT as operating system. The modem doesn't work (not even be recognized). I have searched through Compaq site for WinNT driver but no help. Please advise what should I do to make the modem works. (I definitely need WinNT instead of Win95)

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

The modem is manufactured by Compaq and to my knowledge you will never find an NT driver for it because they never wrote one. I recommend you buy a US robotics modem that is NT compatible. Question for you though, have you tried installing Windows 2000. I want to install it and I was looking to see if anyone with the same model presario 4860 as we have has done this and what problems they are experiencing.

As Armani said, compaq don't support NT on presarios (or windows 2000 for that matter) If you really want to use NT then an external modem is probably a better bet.
