My AMD K6/2 350 Win 98 system will not recognize the USB YC72-CPQ cam (No software included). I have no problem with a USB scanner. I assume that I need a driver or INF file. Can anyone help out?

I have one too that a buddy gave me and at first had a heckuva time finding a driver. In fact, I gave up for well over a year. Today though, I decided to take a crack at it and found this driver in no time flat: http://list.driverguide.com/list/company236/page20
Good Luck,

i have and old compaq 5170 that i put xp in, i have a ibm web cam that uses usb port it said that theres no web cam connected. i think its the drivers for the usb . can you help
From HP's website:
HP and Compaq PCs - USB Device Troubleshooting (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=bph05956&product=93118&dlc=en&lang=en)
Some good steps to start there.
Also, if this is an older Compaq, your USB port may be only 1.0 standard while most of today's devices require USB 2.0 standard. Do you know what your IBM webcam is?
Usually, most USB devices (such as your webcam) require for their software to be loaded up before physically hooking up your device. Again, make sure you follow the installation instructions that came with your webcam.
As an fyi, here are drivers for your Compaq Presario 5170:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&lang=en&cc=us&docname=bph05956&dlc=en&product=93118&
As you can see, nothing listed for WinXP or for Win2K.
