I have got a problem with PC133 memory currently installed in my system. It's a brand name CL3 PC133 128meg Dimm and according to various benchmarks should run rather faster than I can get it going at the moment.

system:
A bit KT7 (WW bios release)
AMD Duron 700 @ 900
128 meg (CL3 133)
Geforce 2 GTS
30g Seagate
SB Live Value!
DXR-3 card
Windows Millenium

Refering to the overclocking guide posted on Athlonoc.com

"DRAM Clock refers to your memories clock speed. A setting of Host CLK gives you 100mhz memory speed, and a setting of Host CLK + PCI CLK gives you the 133mhz memory speed."

When using this option the system freezes when entering Windows, I have tried everything, turned off all other options, even tried a different memory stick, but no joy. Does anyone else have the same problem? or am I just being thick and not doing it right? or does 133mhz just mean 100mhz? Whats going on anyone got any suggestions? (before you ask, it also does the same thing under 98 and NT.)

Would you believe! I seem to be getting almost exactly the same problems on my system which is exactly the same! (256Mb RAM tho) I simply upgraded my mobo/3d card drivers and everything worked out ok in the end! i get about 7K+ in 3dMark2000 which is still a little low but at least its playable in games, ect.

Have you found another solution? if so plz tell me coz i still run a little slow

Some people have had success using the multiplier (ie FSB+PCI) the best I could do was 110/37 (memory ran @ 110, made quite a difference though) but this was causing some problems within windows (infact had to re-install lastnight) so I would not recommend it.

I have written to ABit but they are very slow in responding. But I cannot see why 133 memory will not run @ 133, the only thing I can think of is that within Sandra the FSB is reported as 2x100 (200mhz) so that would make Hst Clk+ PCI 233, but that would also make normal memory speed 200mhz (which it quite clearly is not)

Im still confused, and will be until Abit get back to me with the full sp. I will update this forum once I have heard something.

If anyone else has the same problems please could they post it here, as I don't think Abit realise how much this is affecting it's users.

does it do the same if you run the CPU at it's designed speed (7x100)and up the Memory speeed (Host+PCI Clk)?
