I have a dell pc with crystal PnpAudio system. I downloaded realplayer G2 and the sound either cuts out or I get a series of tones. I contacted realplayer and tried everything they suggested, but no luck yet. I was told to try to download updated crystal driver at www.crystalcomputer.com/software.html, (http://www.crystalcomputer.com/software.html,) but that address did not work. As you can tell I am a novice and looking for any advice out there. Thanks

I have a Dell Optiplex GXi that I had to reinstall windows (due to a coruppted registry) and now I have problems with Realplayer G2 and my sound card. When playing sound files, I have "skipping" problems, like a CD that is stuck. My Dell has built in sound using the CS4236B chipset by Cirrul Logic. I downloaded the driver that Cirrus provides from http://www.cirrus.com/drivers/audiodrv/ but still have skipping problems.

I own a dell inspiron and have the same Crystal PnP audio (CS4236). I have the same problem with my system with Real Player as well as Media Player when viewing .asx files.
Has anyone solved this problem of sound skipping and giving pulses of different tones?

BTW,when I ran a dell diagnostic test, the sound card failed, however, I can still get sound under windows. Weird~
What is wrong?
