Okay, so here I am in need of someones help.

I have a HP Palvilion model #6535 which I bought late 99. Running Win98.se
I have obviously have crystal audio sound card. Which does a great job. This coming from a digital musican.

But, upon running a system check on my plastic box (computer), I find out that my driver is "obsolete"? I then say to myself, "Heh, no problem I'll just click "update driver" and all will be fine.

But all wasn't to be "fine". There's apparently on the HP support site no driver update to be had. But I don't quite beleive as of yet this is the case. I think there is an update out there for me, I just am going to have to search REALLY hard for it obviously. Which kinda sucks. And put's a damper on a couple things.

Now, I have NO clue how to get the product i.d# of my particular sound card. It's not in manuals and not on websites or else I wouldn't be here.

Can someone please, please give me some actual solid information or guide me in a good direction? I've been to the cirrus Logic site. But the navigation is too tech. for my blood. This thing is "driving" me crazy, I might have to get reclusive and take up arms against the "man".

Right click on my computer goto properties then device manager then sound video game controllers. If the drivers are booger'd up and you cannot get the chipset number this way you'll either have to open the case and look at the crystal chip or call HP and get the number from them. I checked thier web site and it just says that it has crystal PCI sound device.
Once you know the number look here
