I really need to update my drivers but can't find anything that can tell me the model number of my sound card. The crystal chipset is embedded in my Intel 810e motherboard and Intel.com couldn't help me find the right drivers.

The sound sometimes shows 'static' and poor quality. If anyone can tell me what model of the crystal chipset is shipped with the Intel 810e chipset then please do so quickly. My OS is Win98.
Thanks

the chip number is stated on the device. you just have to open your machine and take a closer look at the mainboard. the chip shold have "cristal" or "cirrus logic" or "css" written on the top, you can't miss it.

onboard chipsets always sound very poor. i suggest you get an old creative labs awe 64 sound card for isa slot. costs about $15 on ebay an performs excellent... http://forums.windrivers.com//cgi-bin/forum2/wink.gif
