Drive won't read burned CD's

My CD drive won't read burned CD's, even those I just copied to! It will read blank CD's and manufactured CD's, like a game CD - StarCraft, etc.. I don't use this drive very often to read burned CD's. I know the discs are good because they can be read on other computers.

It is a Mitsumi CR-48XGTE, Driver is: 5.1.2535.0, dated 7-01-2001.

I don't have a disc for this drive, I tried updating the driver, and I have searched for a newer driver. The update didn't work and I can't find a newer driver that I can download without having to buy some software like "Driver Detector". Would I be better off just replacing the drive?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might try going here to Mitsumi's Support website:
http://www.mitsumi.co.jp/english/Support/index.html

But their links for downloads appear to be dead at the moment.

It's possible that the drive itself has gone bad. They are pretty cheap nowadays if you decide to replace it.
