Exclamation Start Up Problems On Giga-Byte GA-7VM Motherboard

I am having random start up problems on a Giga-Byte GA-7VM slot A athlon motherboard.
The systems hangs on start up randomly.
I have tried Gigabyte's technical support and have recieved the usual reply, NOTHING!!!
Has anyone else had similar problems out there?
Has anyone managed to overcome this?
If so, HOW?
I have noticed that Windows 98 doesn't seem to be able to update the NVRAM. The problem may be caused by the PNP bios driver?
I am running the latest VIA INF driver Ver1.02.

Can anyone help!

Oh yes, don't buy a Gigabyte and expect any support, you are on your own with these boards. Good isn't it, from a leading manufacturer! AMD need to knock them down a peg or two like they did to Intel, that might bring them back down to earth with a big BANG!!!
