FIREWIRE DRIVERS FOR JVC MINI DV/S-VHS VCR??

I have a Gigabyte GA-FTI 1394 firewire connected to a JVC HR-DVS1 mini DV/S-VHS VCR and the resultant captures are very blocky, pixilated. I have been advised that it is a driver problem. Does anyone know where I can get the appropriate drivers????
