Angry Giga-byte GA-6VXE7+ 3D performance

I have a customer's machine in the shop right now because it has horrible 3d preformance. I've tried loading the via 4 in 1 drivers, which go through the install fine, but don't actually change the drivers under system properties. The only one that I have succesfully loaded is the via cpu to agp controller, and for that I had to go in manually and point it to the inf files. The system currently has a celeron 700, with a geforce 2 mx video card, and 128mb of ram. It gets about 1200 in 3dmark 2000 (same configuration on an asus board gets 4100). I have tried everything I can think of with this system, and I've ran out of idea's. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
