OPTi 931 and Windows NT 4.0

Having trouble with the latest Windows NT drivers (v1.04) for the OPTi 931 chipset. WAV's don't work worth SH*T. Just get a bunch of garbled reverberations. 3sec WAV takes about 1 minute to play...really anoying. Mic and such work fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
