Mike hello pal I have the full version of WIN2K and I still can not get my DSC_F505 to work with the USB does your work with the serial cable? I have gotten mine to work but they are 20 times slower than USB........ please email me with your email address so we can stay in touch if you will please. I am working hard on trying to find something out but the last sony Tech support said was when it officially hits the street they will work on it.... anyway mine is jmiller@cnw.com
please reply via email.

Regards Jim

Hi Guys

I also have the full version of Win2K and when I spoke to the techs at Sony last week they weren't very helpful. Said there were no immediate plans for getting an updated USB driver out and that we would have to use the serial connection. Nice huh? I guess they want us to spend an additional $1000 on an updated driver!

That's the same message I've been getting, having said that, sony has released a seperate generic usb reader and writer for memory stick... as it has been released after Win2k, they may have made a driver for it... here's hoping...

Sony has decided to devote its time and effort on the next generation of CyberShots and has no immediate plans (if ever) to support those of us who have this camera and can't use the USB connection in Win2000. Are any of you interested in pursuing a Class Action Lawsuit against Sony? I'm tired of Sony's "we don't care" attitude! We spent a lot of money on these cameras and should be able to use all of the features.

Hey Everyone, This is my first day accessing this site. I have felt your dilemma for two months concerning Sony's non-support for Win2k digicam drivers. BUT I HAVE FOUND DRIVERS(For DSC S50/70)- AND THEY WORK!!! Too bad Sony couldn't have led me to them. They really have terrible tech support. Anyway, here is the link http://support.d-imaging.sony.co.jp/.../usbdrv13.html

It's a little unorthadox (Japanese), but it works. After running setup and rebooting, run 'update driver' in Device Manager and use alternative driver.
