Initially I had only a Trident 9750 on my PC. Everything worked fine. Then I installed a Monster 3D II graphics accelerator card. When I start a game (e.g. Thief), it only works 1 time out of 5. When it doesn't work, I must ctrl-alt-canc and kill the process associated to the game ... and try again.
I've got Win98, latest 3dfx drivers and DirectX 6.1 for Win98. But Trident did not release DirectX 6 drivers for their Trident 3d Image 9750! I think all the trouble lies there. Maybe there is some kind of hardware conflict between Tri9750 and Monster3DII. Please Heeelp! |

Your problem can be a conflict between your motherboard and your 3D accelerator card.
I have a TRIDENT 9750 AGP card on my PC and an HELIOS 3D VOODOO 2 too and i haven't any problems. If you have some VIA chips on your motherboard, you can have some conflicts with your 3D card (some 3D chipset can't support VIA). You can found the last driver version of the TRIDENT 9750 on the manufacturer's web site -> WWW.TRID.COM if you want. Sorry for my "dirty" english but i'm french. Bye. |
