It seems to be a Backyard Manufacturer, hidden somewhere in China and using the Cirrus Logic good name....

WebExcel modems are manufactured in China by Protac and reselled to OEMS, they are based in Cirrus Logic chipsets but Cirrus sold the modem chipsets to Ambient and Ambient was bought by Intel. Nice uh?.

The "support" page was meant to be www.excelseries.com but excelseries got bought by chaintech forming www.chaintech-excel.com. Nicer, uh?

In the end, we need to browse trough several companies trying to find if somewhere we can find a driver that works under our OS.

I for sure would return this crappy modem and get a US Robotics/Supra instead.
